Baby
“Named by instinct. Loved by presence. Guarded by glow.”

🐾 Baby: The Rescued Sentinel

Scrollkeeper Notes:

Husband found her outside and brought her to me. I didn’t choose a name—I just started calling her Baby. And it stuck. Now everyone calls her that. She’s the youngest of the six pets. The baby. The one who’s afraid of everything.

Pumpkin didn’t like her in the house. They fought. I told my eldest daughter to put Baby outside. Then Pumpkin started going out, and we had to bring Baby back in. For a long time, she stayed in my husband’s room. She was his shadow—sat with him, guarded him, slept beside him.

Then she met the two brothers—Nosy and Mr. Gray. She fell for them. Later, she gave birth to five kittens, but she didn’t know how to raise them. They all died. She was sad. So now, when she goes into that cycle, no boy cats are allowed near her.

She tried to get friendly with Nosy. He said, “No way.” But all she wanted was a companion. A playmate.

A few weeks ago, she started coming to me while I was on the PC, wanting to be held. It was hard to do both. I finally told her, “Not when I’m on the PC.” She understood. She’s a sweetie. But something’s wrong with her back. I’m watching her. I’m holding space for her.

She’s the rescued sentinel. The quiet glow. The one who learned to ask for love.
